Fluffy, protein-packed perfection on a plate.

These Chocolate Protein Pancakes are what happens when you refuse to choose between something delicious and something nutritious – because honestly, why should you have to?

Each serving gives you a solid protein boost from our Chocolate Vegan Protein Blend, plus the sustained energy from oats to power you through your morning. Drizzled with melted dark chocolate and topped with fresh banana, they're Instagram-worthy and genuinely delicious.

The recipe is simple enough to whip up on weekday mornings but impressive enough for weekend brunch with friends. (if you really want to wow your friends, why not caramelise the banana?)

  • Prep time: 5m / Cook time: 10m / Total time: 15m
  • Servings: Makes 6-8 pancakes
  • Difficulty level: Beginner
  • Storage instructions: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Equipment needed: Blender, saucepan, spatula

Ingredients

Toppings:

  • Vegan chocolate
  • Coconut oil
  • Icing sugar
  • 1 banana

Recipe

  1. Blitz your oats into a fine flour, then mix in the protein blend, baking powder, almond milk, egg, and chocolate chips. Stir until smooth.

  2. Warm up a non-stick pan over medium heat and melt a little butter or coconut oil.

  3. Pour the batter into the pan to make three pancakes. Cook until bubbles appear on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown.

  4. Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil over low heat.

  5. Layer up your pancakes, drizzle with the melted chocolate, top with sliced banana and enjoy!

Perfect Pancake Pro Tips:

  • Let the batter rest for 2-3 minutes after mixing,  this helps the oats absorb liquid and creates fluffier pancakes
  • Don't flip too early! Wait until you see bubbles forming and popping on the surface
  • Keep finished pancakes warm in a low oven while you cook the rest of the batch

Tips and Variations

 Protein Flavour Swaps:

Milk Alternatives:

  • Almond milk is just the starting point – oat milk creates extra fluffy pancakes, coconut milk adds richness, or use regular dairy milk if that's your preference.

Chocolate Drizzle Alternatives:

  • Skip the chocolate drizzle and use nut butter instead
  • Drizzle with maple syrup or honey for a classic finish
  • Try our Salted Caramel Vegan Protein Blend mixed with a little almond milk for a protein boosted drizzle
