Tying it all together

Perhaps it's the environmental impact, or maybe it's just to become kinder to your body and animals – whatever your motivation to become increasingly plant-based, there are a few practical considerations to make in your journey.

In email #2 we looked into the foods you need to be particularly conscious of to ensure that you are feeding your body with everything it needs, but aside from a shopping list, we have noted down some of our top tips to consider when becoming more plant-based.

1. Don't be too hard on yourself - this is a journey.

If you have eaten as an omnivore your entire life, it will be challenging to change a lifetime's worth of eating habits, no matter how strong your motivation may be. Given this, there may be hiccups/mistakes/moments of weakness along the way, and we're here to tell you that it's ok! Remember to not be too hard on yourself, just brush yourself off, and get back on your journey.

2. Almost everyone struggles with a new shopping list at the beginning

New ingredients like tempeh & tofu might look like strange substances to begin with but like so many of the new things on your list, you just need to continue experimenting with recipes before you discover what you like. If you don't land on a winning formula on day 1, don't worry – this is totally normal, just keep experimenting!

3. Plan!

Especially in the early days, planning will allow you to be mindful of the ingredients you are cooking with, and ultimately this will make sure that you are consciously getting all the nutrients in that you need! Remember the list of nutrients in email #2, get them in!

4. Don't be afraid of supplements

The world is a busy place, and you might not always have the time to plan every single meal in advance to ensure you're hitting your nutrient goals. Save time with supplements! It's not cheating. It's just real life.

5. Finally, as cliché as it sounds, enjoy it!

You're doing something great for your body, the planet, and animals – enjoy it! Taking part in this new journey should be exciting and rewarding, so make every effort to enjoy cooking & consuming new & exciting ingredients, and the positive impact of it!

So there we have it, all the reasons you need to consider whether or not you should & could become more plant-based. We hope you have found this 3-part series helpful, please do reach out with any questions and feedback, and best of luck with your journey!
